Some of you might see the issue [as picture] here, when you are connecting server. This is a common issue caused by: β–Έ IP Forwarding β–Έ Firewall β–Έ Outdated JAVA β–Έ Incompatible software - Like conflict between Mojang Launcher and Tlauncher/ Optifine.

Please follow the instructions below to fix the issue:

Go through the method step by step, if still doesn't fix the issue, you may proceed the second method as well.

Method 1 - Restart

  1. Restart your Minecraft

  2. Restart your Computer

  3. Powercycle your Router, by turning the power to it off for a minute and starting it up again.

Method 2 - Allow JAVA in Firewall

  1. Search ➟ Windows Defender Firewall

  2. Allow an app or feature through Window Defender Firewall

  3. Change Settings ➟ Seek for Java(TM) Platform SE binary

  4. 'Tick' enable both Private & Public access ➟ Okay

  5. Continue if the list does not have your JAVA version

  6. Allow another app ➟ Path your JAVA installer (Mostly stored in C:\ProgramData\)

  7. To get the path ➟ Search ➟ Run ➟ %appdata%

  8. Add ➟ Enable both Private & Public access ➟ Okay

Method 3 - Reinstall everything

Required back up important files to another folder.

If this method works, try not to install back all the important files, might be one of them overlapping Minecraft launcher.

  1. Back-up all impotant files and folders

  2. Go Control Panel ➟ Uninstall all JAVA & Minecraft

  3. Path to your .minecraft folder and java folder (Usually at C:/ProgramData/) OR Search ➟ run ➟ %appdata% ➟ seek for .minecraft and java folder

  4. Remove all the folder related to minecraft, tlauncher, java and so on.

  5. Reinstall Latest JAVA and minecraft β–Έ To reinstall JAVA, you will have to search for ORACLE latest JAVA release.

  6. Test the Minecraft, might fixed now.

Method 4 - Add Port into IP

This method does not fix the issue, it just provide another way to connect the server.

Connection refused is not related to Server, however, it will refuse you from connecting every single servers.

This method is the last method, which is not recommended to solve the issue. It is just simply adding the IP with port, such as 123.250.0.12:25565
